Sarah (she/her. they/them) graduated in 2010 from the Massage Therapy Western Modality program at CenterPoint School of Massage & Shiatsu Minneapolis. During her time there, she gained knowledge in therapeutic deep tissue massage, relaxation/Swedish massage, trigger point therapy techniques, hot stone massage, prenatal massage, as well as anatomy, kinesiology, physiology, and pathology. Her specialties include back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and relaxation for mental health maintenance and self-care.
Sarah believes the mind and body are deeply connected, and regardless of which phase of life we are in, regular massage treatments are a key building block of physical and emotional self-care. Sarah has learned that pain in one area of the body is sometimes manifested or held in other areas of the body, and ensures to address those connected areas to provide cohesive and versatile care. Sarah also understands that while physical touch is important for humans, receiving a massage can trigger feelings of vulnerability. She uses trauma informed philosophies and open communication to provide care to all clients. Sarah enjoys collaborating with clients to create treatment plans that will reach their goals, and strives to adhere to results based treatment.
Outside of providing massage care, Sarah works as a statistician in government focusing on behavioral health issues in the community. She is a mother of a four year old human and a four year old kitty. Sarah lives in Minneapolis and takes advantage of the various parks, trails, museums, and live music. She also enjoys dancing and takes lessons to further refine her style and ability. Her favorite dances are Salsa, Rumba, Bachata, and Cha-Cha.
