Virginia (she/her) was born in San Francisco, CA and grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis. She graduated from Saint Olaf College in Northfield, MN with a double major in Exercise Science and Asian Studies, along with a minor in Chinese Studies. While the healthcare field has always intrigued her, she found Western medicine lacking a holistic approach that she felt was essential.
In 2018, struggling with health issues that conventional medicine could only temporarily alleviate, she turned to acupuncture on the advice of her best friend, who recommended Amy here at Constellation. From her initial session with Amy, she began to understand the underlying causes of her symptoms. Through acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, her condition gradually improved, with reduced severity during flare-ups. As her treatments progressed, she sought to deepen her understanding of Chinese medicine by borrowing books from the clinic. Following a transformative acupuncture session, she felt compelled to pursue acupuncture professionally to help others as Amy and Kim had helped her.
In August 2020, seeking a change of scenery, she moved to the Bay Area to earn a Masters of Traditional Asian Medicine at Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College (AIMC) in Berkeley, CA. She now completing a Doctor of Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine degree through AIMC, and will soon be taking national certification exams and pursuing her Minnesota acupuncture license.
Outside of work and studying, Virginia finds joy in traveling abroad, and wandering in nature, especially near water. She also enjoys watching sports and staying active with a good workout session. Very enthusiastic about K-pop music, she relishes the energy of K-pop concerts. Additionally, she cherishes connecting with others over delicious food. During her time in grad school, she spearheaded boba tea orders and got her classmates hooked on it.
